Castroville is a census-designated place (CDP), located along the coast beside Monterey Bay in Monterey County, California. Castroville was founded by Juan Bautista Castro in 1863 and is the second oldest town in Monterey County.

For over 50 years, this "Artichoke Capital" has celebrated harvests of their number one crop with an Artichoke Festival held usually in May.
